"Chiropractic gave me my career AND my person."
She moved to Houston at 22, fell in love in chiropractic school, and built two thriving practices while raising four kids. Meet Dr. Kim Tran - the Cypress chiropractor on a mission to help families heal from the inside out.

From New Orleans to Cypress
Dr. Kim Tran arrived in Houston at 22 with plans to become a labor and delivery nurse. Today she co-owns two chiropractic practices with her husband - the man she met two months into chiropractic school - and they're raising four kids together in the Cypress area.
Three girls, one boy, ages 4 to 11 - and all three girls are competitive gymnasts training at the same gym. If the Tran family has a second home, it's that gym. If they have a religion, it's probably a good farmers' market and a great cup of coffee.
"Chiropractic gave me my career AND my person. I met my husband two months into school."
- Dr. Kim TranA Calling Built on Her Own Healing
The pivot happened in 2011 when a chiropractor walked into the gym where she was working. One conversation. One adjustment. One tour of Texas Chiropractic College - and she never looked back.
Through chiropractic care, she healed her own chronic migraines and painful cycles - issues conventional medicine had never resolved. That personal transformation became her professional mission. She went on to earn her CACCP certification in pregnancy and pediatrics and her DCBCN in clinical nutrition, going deep into functional and root-cause health.
Her Specialty
After her son Emerson was born with severe eczema - and they healed him naturally without topical steroids - Dr. Kim found her lane: helping parents resolve their child's eczema through lasting, root-cause healing. She sees families in-person in Cypress and virtually nationwide.
Beautifully Chaotic: A Day in Her Life
Coffee first. Always. Dr. Kim wakes before the kids to journal and set her intentions - then it's full mom mode: breakfast, lunches, four kids out the door.
Patient care fills the day. Social media gets woven in between appointments. Lunch happens on a walking pad. Evenings belong to gymnastics - and dinners, on the hard days, are handled by her mom who lives nearby.
"My mom lives close by and helps SO much. It truly takes a village."

The Freedom to Choose
Don't mistake entrepreneurship for easy. Dr. Kim is clear-eyed about it: she and her husband traded a 40-hour week for something closer to 130. But the freedom - not to work less, but to choose - is everything.
When a kid is sick, she rearranges. No asking permission, no guilt. And her kids are watching all of it. Their 11-year-old has already launched her own slime business. The entrepreneurial seed? Officially planted.
"We basically traded 40 hours a week to work 130 instead. But the freedom to CHOOSE - that's everything."

On Balance and Boundaries
When you own three businesses between two people, your brain doesn't just clock out at 5pm. Dr. Kim admits the hardest thing is leaving work mode at the door. She catches herself answering emails at dinner.
Her answer? Real boundaries. Weekends are sacred - no meetings, no messages, full stop. When she's with her kids, she's completely with them. She's learned that two focused hours beats a whole distracted day, and her kids know the difference.
Each child gets intentional one-on-one time. A Trader Joe's run becomes a moment. They cook together, play board games, have Nerf gun wars - and travel together for gymnastics meets that double as family adventures.
Her Advice to Mom Entrepreneurs
"Jump - but make sure you have your village ready first."
- DR. KIM TRANStarting a business is like bringing home a newborn. You'll be living and breathing it. That means your village has to be ready - your spouse, your family, your people.
Beyond your inner circle, find your tribe - women who will hold you accountable, celebrate your wins, and call you up instead of calling you out when things get hard. That distinction matters.
Get clear on who you're serving before you launch. Build your brand early. Show up in your community. The dream is worth it. Just don't try to do it alone.
Life Outside the Office
When the workday ends, the Tran family heads outside. Farmers' markets, new Houston restaurants, park discoveries - and if you really want to find them on a weekend, check the nearest pond. The kids are completely obsessed with feeding the ducks and turtles (the family goes through cabbage and spinach at a remarkable pace), and it's become their signature ritual.
At home: cooking, baking, board games, card games, Nerf gun battles, crafting. The house is never quiet and never boring - and Dr. Kim wouldn't have it any other way.
