Capturing Moments While Living Her Own
At Macaroni KID Greater NW Houston, we love spotlighting local moms who are not only raising amazing kids but also pouring their passion into businesses that enrich our community. This month, we’re honored to feature Casey Davis, the creative eye behind C. Davis Photography, a thriving photography business built on heart, hustle, and a whole lot of love. I have personally known Casey for over 10 years and has captured all of our family's amazing and most precious moments.
👋 Meet Casey
Casey is a proud Houston native, wife to her husband Dillon, and mom to three incredible daughters:
✨ Scarlett (13) – a competitive dancer on a Worlds team
✨ Brooke (12) – an avid horseback rider and show competitor
✨ Brylee (11) – a soccer star with unmatched energy
With two dogs, a cat, and a bearded dragon named Clyde, the Davis family’s life is full of fun, energy, and meaningful memories. Their weekends are often packed with competitions, practices, and events—but when they get downtime, they cherish game nights, road trips, and hiking adventures together.
📸 How C. Davis Photography Came to Life
Photography has always been part of Casey’s life. She began shooting in high school and continued through college and graduate school, always keeping it as a creative outlet. Even while running her chiropractic practice, she never let go of her love for the camera.
After a serious car accident made it impossible to continue chiropractic work, Casey shifted her focus fully to photography. When COVID brought everything to a halt, she used that time to sharpen her skills.
“I studied everything I could—my camera, editing, creative techniques,” she says. “And honestly, my background in chiropractic gave me a unique edge when it comes to posing families, athletes, and seniors.”
💻 A Day in the Life
Casey’s schedule changes daily, depending on the season. She typically edits 3–5 hours a day and works around her daughters’ active schedules. Between drop-offs, pickups, and sideline cheering, she finds time to scout new shoot locations, build themed sets, and prep for upcoming sessions.
She averages 2–3 shoots per week, and during the fall busy season, that can jump to 5 or more. In the spring, she focuses heavily on youth sports photography, including baseball leagues, cheer, and dance portraits.
🌟 Most Rewarding Part
“The families who come back year after year mean the world to me,” Casey says. “Being trusted with those special milestones is such an honor.”
She also finds purpose in showing her daughters that it’s possible to build something meaningful while still being present as a mom.
“I won’t say I’ve figured out balance,” she laughs. “But they see me serving others and still showing up for them—and that’s what matters.”
💬 Advice to Other Moms in Business
“Just begin. Whatever that looks like for you,” she says. “Some moms can dive in full time. Others might only have time when the kids nap—and that’s okay.”
She remembers feeling discouraged one year when her holiday bookings were low. “I questioned whether I should keep going. But I didn’t stop. I kept learning and pushing forward. The next year, my minis sold out in hours. Just keep going.”
👨👩👧👧 Family Fun Time
When Casey isn’t behind the camera, she’s making memories with her family. The Davis crew loves game nights, movie marathons with popcorn, and any chance to travel or hike outdoors together.
